The state
Transportation Commission has approved about $92
million in federal funding for 84 projects to
develop downtowns, make school routes safer and
improve trails and bikeways across the state,
including several in Western Pennsylvania.
The projects
include allocations from the Home Town Streets,
Safe Routes to Schools and Transportation
Enhancement programs. Those programs receive
federal grant money, which the state
Transportation Commission distributes.
Local projects and
their federal allocations follow.
